erm, don't look now, but i'm having a christmas layout meltdown 8-)
zoran and i always try to be extra charitable at christmas so we usually buy toys for children in need, and donate to the daily bread food bank... and this year we found something we're really jazzed about, which is going to become one of our regular winter charities. i say winter because this organization donates heating services to households and relief agencies (such as homeless shelters) which are in need.

ah jeez... dotster's having a holiday sale... domain registration for $12 a year. so of course i had to buy another one 8-) but at least i didn't buy it for myself this time...
zoran wanted his own domain (not that he has a clue how to code a website - but of course we all know being a competent webmaster doesn't preclude owning a domain. unfortunately. which is why so many domain owners steal from others. but that's several other stories...) but all the names he came up with were taken. mostly he wanted his own name or something to do with the silver surfer, his ultimate comic book hero... but he never thought to look for zenn-la.com, zenn-la being the silver surfer's home planet. so i was really happy to find it available and regged it this afternoon. i was going to teach him how to use blogger for it, but i guess that's not a good idea anymore. i'll install greymatter for him instead.

if i was gonna be a kid at christmas and i couldn't be me all over again, i'd be kayley. you can just tell christmas at her house is awesome :-)

ok goddamnit i've had enough of blogger. yesh, i'm feeling grinchy...! so many things go wrong each time i try to use this stupid thing, it's unreal. now it refuses to let me archive by month instead of weekly. wtf is up with that...? my heartfelt sympathy to those of you who are compelled to use this clunker daily, several times a day. i don't know how you keep your sanity - maybe you just had none to start with 8-)

update on my earlier post (see below)... i heard back from the owner of interweave communications:

You are totally right about your layout. I've checked katgyrl and it's almost the same. I was really surprised in a negative way. The fact is that a student who's been working for us for about six months has 'made' the layout (his was doing his practice/stage with us). We had really no idea that he has 'stolen' the layout from the web. Actually I had never heart of your domain and never seen it. When he proposed his design we were really flattered about it (of course this credits are now for you...).
Of course we will remove the layout and will made a really new design by ourselves. But as you will know this will take some time (about a month). Till that time I hope your will accept that we use your layout. After a month we will present a totally new and original design. If there are costs for 'using your design' please let me know by mail!

ok so that's cool, but *a month* to make a new layout...?! that's pretty slow going 8-) holy crap, i've blogged twice in one day...! erm, pretty cold day in hell, huh...?
update 12.13.00: they've changed it somewhat, but most of it is still my hand coding. and messed up at that... 2 of the frames are missing (the "dividing lines", top and bottom are 404) and i don't think they even know it. i get the idea that no one at interweave actually knows how to code.
holy crap, look at this total rip off of katgyrl.com. i think it's a company, so that's even ruder than usual...seems there's a logo on the bottom right corner that's taking credit for the design too... yup some company called interweave communications is taking credit for my modest little layout 8-) here's their email addie if you want to scold them: info@interweave.nl and the email form for the site that apparently paid for a stolen design.
omg hahaha... this stupid thief at interweave left in the katgyrl.com name on all the subpages, check out the source code he's not changed a thing, just shoved in his meta tags saying he made the layout 8-) doh...! which is why the herenschoen.nl site comes up when you do a search on katgyrl at an engine such as google.
